Common defects and corresponding analysis of die casting products (1)

The casting surface has pattern, and has the metal flow trace

Causes:

1. The runner to casting inlet is too shallow;

2. Injection pressure is too large, resulting in a high velocity of metal, causing splash of liquid metal.

Adjustment method:

1. Deepen gate runner;

2, reduce specific pressure.

There are fine bumps on surface of casting part

Causes:

1. Rough surface;

2. There are scratches, pits or cracks on surface of cavity.

Adjustment method:

1. Polished cavity;

2. Replace or repair cavity.

Casting surface with push rod mark, surface is rough

Causes:

1. Push rod (push bar) is too long;

2. Cavity surface is rough, with debris.

Adjustment method:

1. Adjust length of push rod;

2. polishing cavity, remove debris and oil.

There are cracks or local deformation on surface of casting part

Causes:

1. Uneven distribution or insufficient quantity of feeding rod, uneven stress;

2. Fixed plate of push bar is deviated when working, resulting in a large force on one side and a small force on other, causing deformation and cracking of product;

3. Casting wall is too thin, deformation after shrinkage.

Adjustment method:

1. Increase number of feeding rods, adjust their distribution position, and make ejecting force of casting balanced;

2. Adjust and reinstall fixed plate of push rod.

There are pores on surface

Causes:

1. Too much lubricant;

2. Air vent is blocked, and air cannot come out.

Adjustment method:

1. Rational use of lubricant;

2. Add and repair air vent to make exhaust unobstructed.

Part surface has shrinkage cavity

Causes:

1. Die casting technology is not reasonable, wall thickness changes too much;

2. Metal liquid temperature is too high.

Adjustment method:

1. Increase process hole in thick position, make thickness uniform;

2. Reduce temperature of liquid metal.

Casting part outline is not clear, can not form and shortage

Causes:

1. Die casting machine pressure is not enough, injection pressure is too low;

2. Feed mouth thickness is too large;

3. Incorrect sprue position causes positive impact on metal.

Adjustment method:

1. Replace die-casting machine with large die-casting ratio;

2. Reduce thickness of inlet runner;

3. Change position of gate to prevent positive impact on part.

The casting part is not formed and the cavity is not full

Causes:

1. Die casting die temperature is too low;

2. Metal liquid temperature is low;

3, press pressure is too small;

4. Metal liquid is insufficient and injection speed is too high;

5. Air doesn't get out.

Adjustment method:

1. Raise the temperature of die casting mould and liquid metal;

2. Replace high-pressure die-casting machine;

3. Add enough liquid metal, reduce the injection speed, increase the thickness of the feed mouth.

Casting part is not formed and cavity is not full

Causes:

1. Die casting die temperature is too low;

2. Metal liquid temperature is low;

3. press pressure is too small;

4. Metal liquid is insufficient and injection speed is too high;

5. Air not discharge.

Adjustment method:

1. Raise temperature of die casting mould and liquid metal;

2. Replace high-pressure machine;

3. Add enough liquid metal, reduce injection speed, increase thickness of feed mouth.
