As early as 10,000 years ago, copper was discovered and recognized as a unique metal. It was originally used for jewelry and other ornaments. Copper alloys containing nickel, tin, titanium, beryllium and cobalt are as strong as high-strength steel and have high conductivity and thermal conductivity. Copper and copper-zinc-aluminium alloys are often used to produce flake gold powders. By adjusting the tin-nickel composition, specific colors can be generated.


In the field of powder metallurgy, pure copper powder is used to produce electronic and heat-conducting components. Copper alloys containing tin, zinc, nickel, or iron are widely used in automobiles, lawn and park equipment, tools, and electronics. Copper powders are most commonly used in self-lubricating bearings, as well as fe-cu premixed, dialytic and friction material components in chemical industry.


The characteristic application of copper powder is powder metallurgy. Materials in this field are not obtained by smelting and casting. For example, Self-lubricating bearings and filters are typical applications of powder metallurgy. These materials require proper porosity so that the oil content is well lubricated. Copper powder can be manufactured into complex electrical and electronic components by metal injection molding process as well. This product has good electrical and thermal conductivity. We can use high purity copper powder to improve electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity by increasing part’s final density. Metal injection molding process can improve the density of copper powder, and the conductivity and thermal conductivity will increase accordingly.
