Metal powder injection molding process technology is a high-tech combination of powder metallurgy and plastic forming process. Firstly, mixing the selected powder with binder, then granulate the mixture, after granulating, then injection or molding to required shape. The polymer imparts its viscous flow characteristics to the mixture, aiding in the uniformity of molding, cavity filling and powder loading. After forming, binder was removed through de-binding process and then was sent for sintering. Some sintered products may also need further densification treatment, heat treatment or machining. The sintered product not only has the same complex shape and high precision as the product obtained by plastic injection molding, but also has physical, chemical and mechanical properties close to die casting.MIM technology is suitable for mass production of small, complex precise metal parts with special performance requirements.
